Adult Abbreviated Driver's Education Course

Course Overview

Online instruction for driver's education offers flexible and convenient scheduling.

An adult abbreviated driver’s education course is required for new drivers age 18 or older who haven’t previously held a driver’s license and who did not pass the maneuverability and/or driving portion of the Ohio driving test on their first attempt. This course is also appropriate for new adult drivers who are interested in learning about safe driving practices, traffic laws, additional driving basics and professional behind the wheel training.

Program Details

It must also include either four hours of behind the wheel training with a licensed driving instructor or 24 hours of in-car training with a licensed driver. A certificate showing successful completion of the full adult abbreviated classroom and driving course must be presented to the Ohio driver testing station before you retake the test.

At the Overbeke School of Driving, we offer packages that include in-class and in-car training or separate classes for in-class and private in-car training. You may also have a driving instructor accompany you when you retake your Ohio driving test. Our affordable adult abbreviated classes are held daily at either Beaumont High School, Mandel JCC (Arts & Crafts building or the Stonehill Auditorium, 26001 South Woodland) or the Old Rockefeller Building (3109 Mayfield Rd. Suite 203, Cleveland Heights).
